Cali Visit, Part I

My Mom and Luke drove down for a mini vacation before Luke heads for Indonesia. First day out in LA: Chinese food at the Empress Pavillion. Unfortunately because it took us so long to coordinate (I had grossly underestimated the traffic and lack of parking at the Metro Red Line station) we missed the dim-sum. But Luke still got to enjoy (hehe) a plate of jellyfish, and the rest of us had egg rolls and BBQ pork.

On Friday, Cousin Matt arrived! Aunt Pat, Uncle Bear and Carlean joined us for an evening out at Fellowship! the scathingly hilarious and somewhat inappropriate musical. It is a total cult classic based on the Steven Jackson movie of Tolkien's Fellowship of the Ring.
Some cast members have changed since we saw it last, but it was still painfully uproarious. All the cast came out to mingle with the audience after the show, so we took the photo opp with 'Aragorn.'

On Saturday we headed for Ventura. After a long walk on the beach, we headed for the Oxnard harbor and dinner at Andrea's (our usual spot) with Tim and Diane. We took a short harbor cruise and got a good look at some sealions napping on a dock, too.
